Madison Mission Trip

My regular routines and the life I had known for nearly nine years changed greatly upon moving back stateside last December. Often, I have missed pieces of the life I had in Czech, and continually, God has given the confirmation that this decision to move back glorifies Him. I clearly see the Lord working through the ministry that continues in Letovice, CZ and in the missions I get to be a part of since moving back. Of course, I was able to return to the place I had called “home” for so long as I co- led a team of young adults in September to Czech. We spent the week going into local schools to teach English, led after-school clubs, and finished the week with a large party outreach. We came in contact with hundreds of students throughout the week and helped ELIM ministries kick-off the start of their school year. It has been beyond encouraging to hear how these kids continue to attend youth events.

The time leading up to this trip back to Czech in September wasn’t idle and contained a handful of mission trips. Early in 2025, I helped at a pastor discipleship conference organized by SonLife in Florida. I had a great time connecting with the SonLife team and serving, so I was thrilled when they invited me as a trainer for the youth discipleship conference in Chicago in June. As a teenager, I had attended the same conference, which gave me a foundational step to evangelism and a deeper heart for missions. As I watched these students share their faith with people on the streets of Chicago and write letters to friends back home, I felt I had come full circle. Over the summer, I was a leader on another evangelism mission trip to Madison, WI with a group of teens. In Madison, we had a variety of outreach and evangelism opportunities, which was great as it gave the students wide ministry experiences. Additionally, this past spring I was invited on a quick trip to Dubai to serve a couple missionary families in high-risk areas who were attending a conference and needed

childcare. I loved blessing the families in this way. As the parents went through critical training, the kids and I explored places in the city. I also helped create a children’s training tool for how to deal with fear in high-risk areas. I’ve seen over this year how God uses the skills He has given me in so many different settings to encourage others.
While I am in Minnesota, I serve regularly in ministry as I disciple students and young adults through a disciple-making program called Student Link (this year, I’ve had 16 total students in these groups). I also teach toddlers and preschoolers as their moms are in Bible Study twice a month. They have so many great questions, and I love the ways they understand and apply biblical lessons to their lives. Each week, I volunteer at church with a group of 6th grade girls. Seeing these girls grow in the Lord is one of the highlights of my week. We have so much fun attending retreats together, but as one of the girls said, “I think the most impactful moments are being together each Wednesday.”
Since living stateside has greater financial expenses, in addition to the ministry previously shared, I teach in a couple homeschool co-ops: high school Creative Writing and World History. I also tutor for a few families, focusing on literature and writing. I am a teacher at heart, and I see how God opened the doors for these positions at just the right time. It is joyous and fulfilling to be in front of a class again. In all of these settings, I love sharing biblical connections and encouraging the students in the talents God has given them.
