Student Link - May Newsletter

God is on the move.  This was a big month for Student Link and my family.  Both Nicole & Will graduated College and we went on what might be our final family vacation for a while (till Will is done with Medical school). It even included soon to be member Nehemiah.

The Spanish version of Student Link is complete and 10 copies delivered to the translators.  What a great experience in Madrid as I got to share the vision of Student Link and how Jesus discipled a few that started a movement that is going on today.   These young leaders (associated with YWAM) are so excited to use Student Link and say it was an answer to prayer.  Many tears were shed by me as I am overwhelmed with what God is doing.

The other big step of faith is that I am starting the process of looking for rental space to host a Student Link location.  This was the original vision in 2020 that launched Student Link.  Covid put a hold on it, so instead I wrote the tool.  Now God has put on my heart to bring that back to life.  It will be used for prayer in the morning, discipleship in the afternoon and events in the evening.  I’m looking in the PL area and will need to have around $1500/month to cover the cost.

Meet Team Lighthouse

These lovely ladies are coming with me to Honduras (July 23 – August 3. Annabelle, Kayla, Mya and myself.  We will be hosting an event for English classes, helping at Club Aslan and loving on Missionary Kids during the week.  I will be leading the devotional time with the WGM Honduras missionaries and sharing Student Link Spanish with them.  Pray for support for the team to come in. We would like to purchase tickets the first of June.

Meet Team Rekindle

This group is going in September to Czech (Sept. 28 – Oct. 5) Caleb, Ali, Emma, Me, Chada, Josh, Joey.   Team’s focus is to come long side the Czech team to help launch their youth group for the fall.  We will be hosting a “Birthday Party” on Friday. Pray for support for the team to come in.

I have thoroughly enjoyed the last 4 years pouring into these ladies (not all pictured here).  I am forever grateful God directed me to be the d-group leader of the Shakopee ladies.  Initially, God put on my heart in 2005 to adopt a child.  Nope –instead He gave me 12 more daughters in Christ.  Can’t wait to see what God does in their lives for the next 4 years.

Two of these lovely ladies have completed Student Link and are now taking 3 additional through the materials.  They should be complete by the end of August.

What else am I up to?

  • Continue to meet with Aya when possible to keep encouraging her.  She is looking forward to leading a group this fall with the Czech version.

  • Amy has just started the materials but is really enjoying our time together.

  • Alyssa and I meet once a month to mentor her where she needs it.  She is going through the material with her sons.

  • Traveling to Kansas with Rick where he will be speaking for Extreme Endeavors and I will be writing their devotional time for the week.

  • The Czech team has decided to start Student Link before the trip.  So we will have two groups going through the materials.

Prayer Requests:

  • Nicole starts her internship on Monday, June 3

  • Will and Nehemiah are still in UK until June 7

  • Team Lighthouse – Honduras mission trip in July team planning and financial coverage for team and me

  • Team Rekindle – Czech mission trip in September planning and financial coverage for team and me
